3. Chapter

Wednesday 5.2 i decided to hitch-hike from Cartagena to Almeria, it would be about 200km and quite easy. Well it wasn't...!
On wednesday i spend the whole afternoon trying to get rides, but no luck at all. So i spend the night in a hammock, near the roundabout which was the best spot to hh.

On the next morning i started thumbing again and maybe after one hour i got a ride to Mazarron, which is about 30km to south.
The driver was probably having a middle age crisis, he had a nice looking sport Mercedes and he droved like a maniac on the small serpentine roads. But again i survived. :)
In Mazarron i tried the thumbing in a couple different spots, without any luck.
I walked few kilometres away from the city, more near of the motorway entrance, there was a great place to hitch-hike, but still nothing...
So i had to stay another night sleeping outside.
I found a beautiful place, quite near of the road, but it was on the hillside and still very quiet.
On the night, wind was blowing so hard from the mountains that it was a bit scary. Because it felt like the trees are going to fall down.

On the friday morning i still tried to hh about 4 hours.
Using different methods like only with a thumb,  signs to different cities, 10km sign, i was also willig to hh back to Murcia, Alicante etc, at some point i tried to stay also on the other road but nothing didn't work.
So i decided to hh to city center of Mazarron,  couple construction workers picked me up and gave a ride to a bus station.
I had a few hours before the bus left to Almeria, so i relaxed and ate a little bit.
In Almeria, i stayed two days exploring the city, but also relaxed because the last couple days were quite ruff and my legs were killing me.
In Almeria i also had to make some big decicions how to continue, i didn't have any cs-places in the cities nearby and here in south of Spain the hh could be very difficult.
So i thought about two options, take a boat to Marocco, travel by bus to a different city and then take a boat back to Spain, spending like few days in there. Or i could take a bus to Granada, stay in a hostel few days and then continue somewhere.
I decided go to Granada and it was much more cheaper option.
I really like also this kind of living in hostels, because you can meet lots of cool people very easily.
So now i'll stay in Granada for some time, chill out, recharge batteries and then continue to some other place. =)
